Welcome to the third part in this Discover Your Style series as you learn how to customize a signature look that represents your style.

You should now have a clear picture of your style from the inspiration you collected during Part 1 and the style profile you created in Part 2.

Now it?s time to create some outfits to wear that represents you.

Create Your Signature Look

Pull out your style vision board and your style journal. I've shared a few images from my Pinterest style board that represents my style, most of them are from Chico's.

Start a new page in your journal and write down what some typical outfits look like that fit your style profile.

Your signature look will reflect your personal style and include those key elements that you love to wear.

As you list your outfits, use this format and fill in the blanks based on your style inspiration. For each, describe the style, color and details of the item.

? Bottoms

? Top

? Layer

? Shoes

? Accessories

Repeat the process to create outfits for all aspects of your life, including casual, work and dressier occasions.

Customize Them

Many stylists will tell you to simply copy your inspiration outfits. But without customizing your outfit to fit your body and coloring, it will not be flattering on you.

Don?t skip this step!

Adapt to Your Body

If the clothing in your inspiration outfit is not flattering on you, substitute a style that works better.

Tweak the shapes and silhouettes by substituting a similar item that captures the essence of your style.

Adapt to Your Coloring

If you know your color season, then your seasonal color palette will be invaluable in this process.

If your inspiration outfit are in colors that are unflattering on you, substitute colors from your color palette that suit you better.

If you don?t know what your best colors are, I have a color season guide to help you.  I also hope you get a seasonal color fan to customize the colors in your outfits.

Document It

Pull out your style journal and next to each of your outfits, write in your substitutions to the side. Your goal is to create a similar look in your best colors and flattering shapes.

After completing this exercise, you will have a recipe book to follow to create a variety of signature looks.

Shop Your Closet

Now go to your closet and start creating as many versions of your inspiration outfits as you can.

Take selfies.

Make adjustments to your outfits as you go and add notes in your journal.

Practice to perfect your looks.

Keep the photos of the outfits that you love.

Move the clothing that fits your style profile to the front of your closet, so they are more accessible.

Start a Shopping List

As you review your style vision board and create new looks, you?ll start to realize what is missing.

Do you need to add an updated shoe?

Do you need to add a different style of pant?

Do you need to add a key element that you love?

Make a detailed list for future shopping.

Once you complete this challenge, you?ll have a playbook filled with signature looks that reflect your personal style.

You should also have some outfits to wear that look and feel great on you. If not, it shows that your current wardrobe does not reflect your style and you?ll need to do some shopping.

Keep experimenting with new looks!
