This is the first of a four-part series exploring the different "types" of each color season. Let's start with Spring. It?s a season filled with colorful flowers, green grass and budding trees. The colors of Spring are happy and energizing.

These beautiful sun-lit colors are represented in the Spring color seasons used in personal color analysis.

In a nutshell, color analysis is the process of matching your natural coloring to a set of colors called a color season that?s in harmony with you. Once you discover your color season, you know with confidence the colors to wear to look your absolute best. It?s really life changing

Let?s explore the Spring color seasons which are warm, light and bright.

Are You a Spring?

Springs have a warm or neutral to slightly warm skin tone, often with a hint of yellow, that looks ivory, golden or peachy. Your hair color does not have to be light and can range from light blonde to dark brown-black. Your eyes can be blue, teal, green or brown and are usually bright and sparkling.

However, all Springs do not look alike. They can have different dominant color traits of warm, light or bright.

True Spring, the original Spring season, along with Warm Spring, Light Spring and Bright Spring are the 4 Spring seasons in the 16-season method of color analysis.

Each of the Spring seasons has a unique color palette with variations of the traditional Spring colors that match their coloring.

The Four Spring Color Seasons

True Spring

True Spring is the main Spring season. True Spring has traits that are warm, light and bright. Each color dimension is balanced with no extreme or dominant dimension to your coloring.

The True Spring color palette is yellow-based, warm, clear, and light to medium dark. The colors are clear or lightened with white. The colors are fresh and light and not overly intense or dark.

Neutrals include ivory, a range of golden tans and browns, dove grey, and clear navy. Accent colors include yellow, peach, coral, warm red, aqua, warm blues, yellow greens, true green, and violet.

Not sure which Spring season you fall in, then stick to the True Spring colors which will be flattering.

Warm Spring

Warm Spring is the warmest Spring season. It?s Spring mixed with the depth and richness of Autumn.

A Warm Spring?s dominant trait is warmth. A Warm Spring has hair, skin and eyes that look very warm and golden, often with red hair and freckles. You look warmer and deeper than a typical Spring, but you look brighter and less earthy than an Autumn.

The Warm Spring color palette is golden, clear to slightly toasted, and medium. It?s a warmer and deeper version of the True Spring colors.

The colors are the very warmest of the Spring color palette, with the addition of golden yellows, light orange, and light rust.

Neutrals include ivory, cream, golden tans and browns, and bright navy. Accent colors include golden yellow, peach, coral, apricot, salmon, tangerine, warm blues, aqua, warm greens, and warm purple.

????????????????????????????????Light Spring

Light Spring is the lightest Spring season. It?s Spring blended with the coolness and softness of Summer with a neutral to slightly warm undertone.

A Light Spring?s dominant trait is light. You look lighter and more neutral than other Springs, but you will look warmer and brighter than Summers.

The Light Spring color palette is neutral to moderately warm, tinted, clear, and light to medium. It?s a lighter, cooler and softer variation of the True Spring colors with some of the intensity and saturation removed.

Adding white to the Spring colors adds a little softness.  Since dark colors can look heavy on Light Springs, notice there are no dark colors with the darker Spring browns replaced with more tans.

Neutrals include light ivory, sand, light warm tans, dove grey and light navy. Accent colors include light yellow, light peach, warm pinks, watermelon red, mint, turquoise, aqua, and lavender.

Bright Spring

Bright Spring, also called Clear Spring, is the brightest Spring season. It?s Spring combined with the brightness and coolness of Winter with a neutral to slightly warm undertone.

A Bright Spring?s dominant trait is brightness. A Bright Spring will look very bright and usually high contrast in coloring. Bright Springs are often difficult to type since they look like Winters with bright eyes, dark hair and little to no warmth. You look deeper and cooler than a typical Spring, but you look warmer than a Winter.

The Bright Spring color palette is neutral to moderately warm, bright, and icy light to dark. It?s a cooler and more saturated version of the True Spring colors.

The colors are brighter and cooler than True and Warm Spring, but warmer than Winter colors. Notice that the warmest colors like Spring brown and light orange have been replaced with cooler neutrals and shades of bright pink.

Neutrals include light ivory, neutral and dark browns, brown-black, warm black, warm charcoal and bright navy. Accent colors include bright yellow, bright coral pink, poppy red, turquoise, bright blues, true greens, and bright plum.
